Young Justice – S01E09 – Bereft

Tonight's adventure: "Bereft"

Our heroes lose track of time in this, the final episode before a hiatus. Not sure whether to call it a season finale or not. It's a first batch finale though.

And we're doin' it live! Join us at 6:45pm EST to chat about the show!

  1. When Artemis told Flash to stop touching himself I was bursting with laughter. This show is priceless!

  2. so should we just start calling Superboy, Kid Hulk now or what?

  3. This episode was DELIGHTFUL. I really like M’gann — I hope she and Superboy can continue to be adorable together.

So was that a Boom Tube at the end? I hope so…

  4. they said zeta energy like in zeta beam but it looked like a boom tube.  of course it could just be the generic engey all these teleportion wormhole stuff uses.

look like M’gann learned about earth first by watching tv. that where she got the line “hello megan from a tv show.

and again artemis is Artemis Crock the daughter of the sportmaster and tigress. Divo and HD let me read the name on that letter she got last episode.

  5. good episode, i wonder if they were really gone for six months, they should really have explained that

  6. That was really unclear I think they were only gone for a day but forgot the last 6 months.

  7. Another good episode.

But I say again the awful/fake teen catch phrases of “hello Megan!” and Robin’s over whelmed/whelmed Have Got to Go.

Someone needs to take the writers a side and say No- just no.

One more- I understand that being a clone- Superboy would have socialization isssues.

But it’s time to move him forward a bit- and loose the Hulk out moments- Weezwill – you are right about that.

  8. i can’t get over how fantastic the design is in each episode. Those black costumes are pretty cool but also the character designs are a bit sexy too.

  9. I really liked this episode. I think the strongest quality of the show is the soap opera between the characters.

Kid Flashes relationships with Miss Martian and Artiemis is really fun, as is Superboy and Miss Martian’s moments together. This episode proved what I suspected from the beginning, Aqualad is not needed. This version of him is too serious, and distracts from the fun the other characters can have when he’s not there.

My favourite aspect of the show is still Robin. Without Batman to over shadow him you can really see why he’s the boy wonder. He kicks ass most weeks, and not even Kid Flash can keep up with him. I like that he’s so eager to understand everything he even analysis words (like overwhelmed etc), but I agree the Miss Martian “Hello Megan” has got to go.

I’m a bit new to DC so can anyone explain what that ball-thing that followed them home was, and what a Boom-tube is? Where’s that Simon guy from? Thanks

How long until the show comes back?

  10. @Zeppo – Psimon is a Teen Titans villain – http://www.titanstower.com/source/whoswho/fear5.html#psi

And I’m with you, I really like the fact that Robin keeps analyzing words.

Anyone knows when the show returns? I miss it already.

  11. Things I want to see more:
Aqualad beating people up with water weapons
Robin using tech to kick ass
    Kid flash masturbation jokes

    Things I’m tired of:
    Hello Megan
    Superboy smash
I don’t give a fuck who Artemis really is

  12. Robin is supposed to be a genius- hacker- tactician etc

I think he would naturally get the etmology of common words.

That kind of thing takes me right out of the character.

  13. @Zeppo I don’t see how this episode proves that aqualad should be in this show. His seriousness adds a balance to the different characters and it makes sense that the leader of the team would be the most serious character. Given that last episodes spotlight was aquaman it makes sense that he would have limited screen time this epsiode. Also, sure there were some fun moments in this episode, but it was not a lighthearted fun episode where serious isn’t needed. This show has some darkness too it that needs someone serious to help keep things grounded, which i would argue Aqualad does.

  14. @wangman31888  They were only missing for about a day, they had their minds wiped to six months back. If they had been missing for six months you would have seen the JLA tearing Biayla apart.

@Zeppo  I coudn’t disagree more. Aqualad is a much needed and important part of the team.

  15. @Aqualad fans,

Sorry guys, didn’t mean to ruffle you, glad your liking Aqualad. I’ve not connected to the character. I thought last weeks episode was very dull. I really enjoyed this weeks episode, all the characters I liked were in the spotlight and Aqualand was MIA for most of it.

Maybe if he was more like the character from Brightest Day, but this version does nothing for me.

  16. I really hope the ball thing that followed them home is the Forver People/Young Justice style Super Cycle.

  17. The ball thing is pretty cool but
If Batman doesn’t rip them a new one for allowing a highly advanced sentient piece of technology into their secret HQ
I will be a little shocked and disspaointed.
