Top 5: Best Comic Book Series… Right Now!

It used to be an annual iFanboy tradition to gather around a grill, cook way too much food, and talk about comics, including the listing of our top 5 comic book series… right now. Well, we thought we’d bring that tradition back and this time invite some of the staff to play the game.

I present to you, in no particular order, the Top 5 Best Comic Book Series… Right Now! as chosen by various members of the iFanboy staff.

  1. My top five right now…

    Thor: God of Thunder
    Batman
    Saga
    Manhattan Projects
    Walking Dead

Picking #5 was tough, satellite sam, daredevil, indestructible hulk, Hawkeye, I’ve enjoyed The Flash alot, Lazarus, The Activity, superman/batman…. All are great reads right now.

  2. Awesome! This should become a regular thing by the way! 😉

My top 5, in no particular order:

    – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    – Batman
    – Daredevil
    – Manhattan Projects
    – The Wake

  3. I meant The Wake…not The Activity. Oops.

  4. Right Now:

    Saga
    The Walking Dead
    Hawkeye
    The Sixth Gun
    Chew

  5. Deathmatch
    Savage Dragon
    Harbinger
    Avengers Arena
    Saga

Sad to see nobody from ifanboy staff picking any of the Valiant stuff… that whole line as been excellent.

  6. Thor
    Saga
    Avengers Arena
    Young Avengers
    Daredevil

  7. X-Men Legacy
    Daredevil
    Young Avengers
    Saga
    Wonder Woman

  8. All New X-Men
    Locke & Key
    Harbringer
    Saga
    Prophet

Hard not to include BPRD and Fairest, we are spoilt for choice right now.

  9. Saga
    Thor: God of Thunder
    The Private Eye
    Rachel Rising
    Manhattan Projects

  10. In no particular order

    Prophet
Daredevil (Seems to be unanimous amongst readers)
    East of West
    The Massive
    Fatale

  11. Saga
    Lazarus
    All-New X-Men
    Daredevil
    Batman

  12. Batman
    Thor: God of Thunder,
    Daredevil,
    Uncanny Avengers
    All-New X-Men,

  13. I’ll play.

    Saga.
    Fatale.
    Chew.
    Locke and Key.
    Daredevil

  14. All-New X-Men
    Saga
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Daredevil
    Ultimate Comics Spider-Man

  15. Batman
    Daredevil
    Thor: God of thunder
    Saga
    Locke and Key

  16. the sixth gun
    injustice gods
    ultimate spider man
    chew
    batman

  17. In no particular oder

    Batman
    Young Avengers
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Saga
    Hawkeye

    Six through ten would be
Wonder Woman, Indestructible Hulk, Wolverine & the X-Men, All New X-Men, and the criminally underrated Aquaman

  18. Lazarus
    Saga
    The Private Eye
    Chew
    Aquaman

Yes, Aquaman. It’s been consistently entertaining for me.

I think it’s safe to say the iFanboy community loves Saga.

  19. 1-Young Avengers
    2-Batman
    3-Indestructible Hulk
    4-Lazarus
    5-Hawkeye

  20. This was tough.

    In no order:

    Thor: God of Thunder
    Aquaman
    Saga
    New Avengers
    East of West

  21. I’d have to say the stuff I look forward to most:

    New Avengers
    FF (future foundation)
    Manhattan Projects
    Walking Dead
    Hawkeye

  22. Saga
    Conan the Barbarian
    Star Wars: Legacy
    The Goon
    Manhattan Projects

    • I love the goon too but didn’t include it because it’s next issue is solicited for Nov 28th! I think that will make it a year between issues lol. Great book though, and I can’t wait for the movie.

  23. in no particular order:

    saga
    prophet
    manhattan projects
    wonder woman
    daredevil

i read in trades, so a recurring feature like this would be great! maybe done as a quarterly feature, with an accompanying podcast; i’d love that!? 😉

  24. It gets quite tricky to pin down, once you really think about it, but I’ve settled on :-

    5. Aquaman
    4. Fatale
    3. The Manhattan Projects
    2. Wonder Woman
    1. Saga

  25. Expected more love for Wolverine & The X-Men!

    Wolverine & The X-Men
    Saga
    Avengers Arena
Manhattan Projects (Almost went with East of West)
    Ultimate Spider-Man

  26. For me right now assuming Locke and Key is out because it’s on hiatus:
    Saga
    Hawkeye
    The Manhattan Projects
    Daredevil
    Prophet

  27. Saga
    Green Arrow
    XO Manowar
    Batman
    Scarlet Spider

These are in no particular order and this was harder than I thought. There are alot of great books being published right now.

  28. Saga
    Sex
    East of West
    Uncanny X-men
    All New X-men

    Done in 3 minutes.East

  29. In no order:
    Mind MGMT
    Unwritten
    Saga
    Young Avengers
    Archer & Armstrong

It was close between Archer & Armstrong and Batman, but the Valiant book edged out Snyder’s. I’m still enjoying Batman, but not at the same excitement level as before. Also the current arc of Archer & Armstrong has been fabulous.

Disappointed that there have been no votes so far for Mind MGMT, one of the most creative series I’ve read in a long time — it definitely deserves a larger audience.

    • Second the Mind MGMT surprise and love. If I had Santa Claus powers I would just give everyone a copy of the first trade, and we’d all have to stay in bed for a week after reading the Zanzibar issue.

      1. Mind MGMT
      2. The Manhattan Projects
      3. Hawkeye
      4. Daredevil
      5. Satellite Sam

    • It was between MInd MGMT and Prophet on my list for what it’s worth. I actually just started reading it and was floored.

  30. No one is reading the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ongoing? It’s been amazing! Definitely my pick for one of the best right now, issue after issue is an absolute home run.

    • I love it man. I’ve been a fan of the turtles since I was 7 or 8 but I somehow missed that there was a new ongoing series until about 6 months ago! I’ve picked up the trades up until #20 and am getting it in singles now. More people should check this book out.

    • I included it in my top 5. Second comment from the top man! 😉

    • I’ve been with it since the beginning, ongoing, Annual, and the Micro issues, and Secret of the Foot. Expensive stuff to follow just one series.

    • agreed. it’s definitely one of my favorites right now (especially the current ark). I also love the concept of the mini series as an addition to the main one.

    • I like it too. I’d complain more about costs, but damned if every Micro isn’t enjoyable and great anyway.

  31. My must buys:

    Batman
    Ultimate Comics Spiderman
    New Avengers
    Batman/Superman
    Ultimate Comic The Ultimates

  32. so what im hearing is i should be reading Daredevil, i may start picking them up digitally when the ipad comes in.

    my top five:

    1. chew
    2. wonder woman
    3. batman
    4. batman beyond (has surpassed my wildest dream)
    5. invincible (only just finished conpendium one and waiting for 2 to ship so they look pretty on my shelf.)

new tot his whole thing so still learning, tend to gravitate more towards dc but open to new recs at all times.

    • Check out some of the Image stuff, they are killing it now. I’d say I’ve been traditionally a DC guy, but 3/5 of my list were Image, as were the runners up!

    • I agree with Kenny G. Image is really making some waves. Just off the top of my head, I recommend: Saga, Manhattan Projects, East of West, Lazarus, Satellite Sam, and Prophet. They’re currently sporting the most versatile and creative lineup in comics.

I’m a lifelong DC guy, and I’ve dropped most of my current DC pulls for Image. Just dip your toe in. The water’s fine.

And yes, read Daredevil. Like right now. Go!

    • Yeah right now as far as quality there’s Image and then everybody else.

  33. My favorites are:

    The Private Eye
    Daredevil
    Hawkeye
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Ten Grand

Being a student, I’m on a pretty small budget so there are a LOT of books that I would like to read but can’t. I’ll probably end up picking up a lot of things in trade eventually though. Danger Club, Fatale, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Nova and FF are also really good.

  34. Thanks for this article and all the replies.

Just updated my To-Read list. 8)

  35. I’ll play. No order, this was hard to pick only 5.

    Thor: God of Thunder
    Batman
    Walking Dead
    East of West
    Bedlam

    Runners up: Manhattan Projects, Lazarus

  36. Daredevil
    wolverine and the x-men
    hawkeye
    manhattan projects
superior foes of spider-man (i know we’re only two issues in, but those two issues have been the best i’ve read all year)

    • I’ve read the first two issues of Superior Foes Of Spider-Man too and thought they were really good. I’m excited for this series and hope it goes on for a long time.

    • Superior Foes is the Mark Waid’s Daredevil of 2013. Hope to add it to my top 5 in the future, but just couldn’t with only 2 issues out. It’s my Honorable Mention 🙂

  37. Superman Batman
    Superior Spiderman
    Justice League
    Injustice Gods Among Us
    Smallville

  38. Thor: God of Thunder
    Hawkeye
    Saga
    Manhattan Projects
    Locke & Key
    Uncanny Avengers

I listed 6 since Locke and Key will be gone soon.

  39. In no particular order:

    Thor
    Batman
    Superman unchained
    All-new xmen
    Daredevil

This was pretty hard to decide on, gotta give mentions to stuff like justice league, hickmans/remenders avengers and nightwing which has been awesome lately.

  40. Saga
    East of West
    Hawkeye
    Green Arrow
    The Massive

  41. Saga
    Manhattan Projects
    Hawkeye
    East of West
    The Private Eye

  42. Too many people are missing out on Fatale. It’s such a great book.

  43. Thor
    Harbinger
    Bloodshot
    Xomanowar
    mind MGMT

    Runners up:
    FF
    All New Xmen
    Locke and Key
    Hawkeye
    Avengers Arena
    Young Avengers

  44. Well I better get in on this, in no particular order:

    Star Wars
    Superior Spider-man
    Ultimate Comics Spider-man
    Wolverine and the X-Men
    Hawkeye

Superior Foes of Spider-man and Batman 66 could take over 2 of these spots if they continue to be so good, but I didn’t feel right including them after only 2 issues.

  45. New Avengers
    Superior Spider-Man
    Wonder Woman
    East of West
    Sex

That list would be different if Journey into Mystery and Threshold hadn’t been cancelled this month.

    • If Journey Into Mystery, Dial H & Demon Knights hadn’t been canceled, my list would have been even more difficult to narrow down . . .

    • Immonen’s run was almost as good as Gillen’s and reminded me a lot of Nextwave. It is just awful that something so cool was so ignored.

  46. Daredevil
    Superman: Unchained
    East of West
    The Manhattan Projects
    Indestructible Hulk

It’s a great time to be a comic fan 🙂

  47. My Top 5 (in ABC order):

    All-New X-Men
    Daredevil
    Saga
    Superior Spider-Man
    Thor: God of Thunder

    Honorable Mention:
Superior Foes of Spider-Man- Too New to Include

  48. I could wholeheartedly go with Chris’ list. Maybe switch out DHP for Mind MGMT, DHP has been less consistent the past few months, I think. Plus, the constant new series pushing is a bit too much of a marketing move for my taste. Everything else, yes:

    5. Mind MGMT
    4. Lazarus
    3. Private Eye
    2. Saga
    1. Prophet

Runner ups: Dark Horse Presents, The Massive, Adventure Time, Manhattan Projects, The Wake, Trillium, Astro City, Unwritten, Animal Man

I don’t get the Batman hype. It’s well written and all, but it is just way too standard super hero fare for my taste. But that’s what taste is for, I guess.

  49. Everyone loves lists.

    Aquaman
    Wonder Woman
    Thor
    New Avengers
    Lazarus

  50. In no particular order

    1. Avengers Arena
    2. Locke and Key
    3. Saga
    4. Batman
    5. Daredevil

I hate to be THAT guy, but I’ll be THAT guy. No Locke and Key in the iFanyboy staff top 5?

  51. I have re-typed this several times already but (in no particular order) they are:

    Batman
    Saga
    Nowhere Men
Wonder Woman (I never thought I’d put WW in a top 5 list!)
    FF

Honorable mention: Hellboy in Hell (it’s on a break)

    • I can’t consider Nowhere Men in my top 5, even though I love it so much. When DID the last issue come out, 3-5 months ago?

HIH. Y’know for such a relaxed and down to Earth guy, HB spends alot of time traveling and fighting. Yet Mignola is always taking these breaks. Ironic in a way, but I love them both.

    • I was already wondering why no one included nowhere man. its true that the book hasn’t come out in quite a while (does anyone know why?) but it’s awesome. the whole design of the book itself is already a masterpiece 😉

    • If this had been a top ten, I would have included Nowhere Men, but, it couldn’t quite make the cut for a top five.

  52. In no particular order

    Uncanny Avengers
    Fatale
    Ghosted
    Wonder Woman
    The Sixth Gun

  53. My list:

    Daredevil
    Saga
    The Massive
    Revival
    The Sixth Gun

  54. Well I’m a joiner, and everyone else did it so here’s mine, in no particular order.

    Daredevil
    Wonder Woman
    Saga
    Manhattan Projects
    BPRD

if American Vampire was coming out it’d be on here, but I don’t know what I’d replace.

  55. Mine would have to be,

    Hawkeye
    Avengers Arena
    Young Avengers
    Saga
    Thor

I was just thinking today as I was reading through my stack how lucky we all are that there’s so many amazing books being put out right now.
I could have easily filled out a top twenty and still had to have left books out.

  56. I noticed most of the Ifanboy staff averaged 3 Marvel titles each, with Jim having the most (4,ironic). Surprised 3 or 4 of the rest had no Marvel titles tho.

    My top five RIGHT NOW:

    The Flash
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Green Lantern
Animal Man (NOBODY ON THIS ON THEIR LIST?!!! ((which I mostly skimmed
    Trillium

I’d put Nowhere Men in place of Trillium but I can’t remember WHEN the last issue of NM came out. Honorable mentions to Waid’s DD (not currently buying, but reading in TPBs at the library), Larfleeze, Snyder’s Batman (which I’m taking a sabbatical from, but I’m sure it’s as good as ever), Batman/Superman, and Quantum and Woody.

    • dude, I like your list. I put a lot of them on my top 5 as well.

    • The current arc of Animal Man has been great and the annual was outstanding, yet, five is a small number, and the others on my list impress me even more on a month to month basis . . .

    • Thanks @Godzilla.

@Cosmo, for me A-Man just keeps churning new surprises all the time along with killer writing. Some months I think “This is cool, but how can anything in here compete with _____ or ______ or even _____”. In fact that’s what I was thinking last month, until I read the annual and Issue 23(?). BBAAMM! Awesome morning. I tried describing this series to my art teacher and couldn’t quite find the right words to. I feel that’s the benchmarks to a lot of great series, so good they almost defy short descriptions.

Y’know what’s bugging me about my list? NO GHOSTBUSTERS!!! That series is fantastic every month. Every month! And it’s run for almost 20 issues. It’s kept it’s quality just as high if not more than TMNT, so that’s a glaring oversight to me on myself. Honorable mention won’t cut it, it DESERVES a spot on my Top 5. Don’t know what to cut from my list to make room tho.

  57. All-New X-Men
    Batman
    Saga
    Wonder Woman
    Star Wars

Who knew I would have Star Wars in my top five, much less Wonder Woman!

  58. Hawkeye / Thor: God of Thunder / Wolverine and the X-Men / FF / Saga

  59. Saga
    Thor, God of Thunder
    The Manhattan Projects
    Batman
    Prophet

  60. Oh, fine …

    Saga
    Thor: GOT
    Daredevil
    East of West
    Wonder Woman

  61. Batman
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Daredevil
    Green Arrow (#17 onwards)
    Hawkeye

I know I need a few more creative owned titles in there but this list is too good at the moment to be toppled.

  62. this would be my list:

    TMNT
    Animal man
    Young Avengers
    Saga
    Nowhere Men

(but FF and Flash would be close 6 and 7)

    honorable mention for best mini:
    trilium

  63. Thor God of Thunder
    Uncanny Avengers
    Batman
    Captain America
    All New X-Men

But I do think Hickman’s Avengers/New Avengers has really picked up with with start of Infinity. And Mark Waid’s Daredevil and Indestructible Hulk are also up there, probably 7 and 6 respectively.

  64. In no particular order mine would be

    Locke and Key
    Mind MGMT
    Daredevil
    Saga
    Sheltered

with runners up being Ultimate Spider-man, The Wake and Hawkeye

  65. To be honest, I read like 4 titles. I’m glad someone chose Deadpool, though. In many ways it’s an unappreciated series, critically.

  66. Well holy shit! You know I do love a Top 5 List!

My Top 5 Comic Books right now…

    1. Batman
    2. Thor: God of Thunder
    3. Daredevil
    4. Ultimate Spider-Man
    5. TIE: Trillium / Satellite Sam

(yeah that TIE thing was just an excuse to squeeze in one more comic) 😉

  67. Hey Conor, you should compile all our lists and create an “iFanboy User Top Comics List!”

I mean, if you got nothin’ better to do. 😉

    • I was going to but then you put 6 books in your Top 5.

    • Good idea but its looking like it would easily Be Thor, Saga, Batman, Daredevil, Hawkeye, just from scanning the results. I don’t think anything else will make the list.

    • Conor’s list looks to be the same as the average of all of ours.

    • Yeah but Conor, you know what Jimi always said….

“Now, if 6 turned up to be 5,
      I don’t mind, I don’t mind.
If all the hippies cut off their hair,
      I don’t care, I don’t care.
Dig, ‘cos I got my own world to live through
And I ain’t gonna copy you.”

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iaJWrLsJlI

      groovy 😉

    • I would like to see this done in a chart. Just take the first 5 listed and throw out any others. Would there be a way to track this on a regular basis? I’d gladly enter my top 5 each month to see how they stack up.

    • Couldn’t we simply look at the top five most pulled books each week? That would have to be our collective top 5, by definition (assuming everything comes out on time.)

    • If we’re comfortable equating most pulls with “best,” then that would be easy to do. The data is already recorded. However, I don’t think that some of the books I purchase with high pulls are what I would call “best” right now. This is more an indication of what people are buying.

Similarly, POTW percentages could be used, taking the top 5 by highest percentages. But what about a week when two (or more) really great books come out? You’re limited to picking one of them, where across a month you might have picked three of them as top 5 of the month.

I’m not trying to create more work for anyone, but if it’s not accurate, don’t bother reporting it.

    • Fuck Yeah Jimi Hendrix!!!

  68. top 5 in just random order
    Batman
    Daredevil
    All new x-men
    Saga
    American Vampire

sorry Green arrow and Aquaman, you just missed the cut . Yeah there are some really good comics out there right now,

  69. Deadpool
    X-O Manowar
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Batman
    Daredevil

Also, really digging X-Men right now and I love Saga, just need to catch up as I’m a few issues behind. Other honorable mentions would be Aquaman and The Flash.

  70. I dropped so many books lately, here’s what’s left and thus, is my top 5

    Daredevil

Thor: God of Thunder – I swore I was dropping this after GodBomb, but dammit if I didn’t walk right into the shop and buy it.

Deathmatch – Oh, yesss…Deathmatch. Jenkins world building and the depth of the characters is an exciting mystery.

Hawkeye – even I stopped with the annual.

Doom 2009 — oh, sorry, that’s from 1993. (And a damn cool book).

  71. The love for Daredevil’s so strong, Matt Murdock is weeping, from those useless eyes.

  72. I couldn’t come up with a top Five, it was hard enough to come up with a top ten. No particular order.

    Ten Grand
    East of West
    Saga
    The Private Eye
    Fatale
    Six Gun Gorilla
    Daredevil
    Hawkeye
    Batman
    The Wake

    • Alright, I’ve had some time to digest this decision:

      Saga
      Ten Grand
      East of West
      Fatale
FF (I don’t know how I missed this in my top ten…)

If it wasn’t a Limited, SGG would be in there.

  73. in this order…

    5. Walking Dead
    4. Hawkguy
    3. Locke & Key
    2. Saga
    1. Batman 66

  74. This brings back some fun memories and makes me want to grill some food. Thanks for doing this.

  75. Top 5 gonna be tough, how about

    1. Saga
    2. The Manhattan Projects
    3. Uncanny Avengers
    4. Prophet
    5. The Massive

Difficult because I do truly love B.P.R.D., both of Hickman’s Avengers titles which I know most people wouldn’t pick & his East of West is great too & then there’s Nowhere Men if only they could get their act together on releasing schedule!

  76. my top five are in no order gi joe special mission,batman/superman,new avengers,x-men and daredevil.by the way i want to try unit but i haven’t read any valiant i a’m getting the x-o manofwar hard cover in november

  77. 1. All-New X-Men
    2. Thor: God of Thunder
    3. Daredevil
    4. Bedlam
    5. Mind the Gap

  78. In no particular order:
    All New X-men
    Wolverine and the X-men
    Saga
    Infinity
    Young Avengers

  79. I find it interesting how many people are including Trillium based on a single issue. I mean, I loved it, and look forward to the rest of the series, but can’t really call it one of my favorite books month after month . . .

    • dude it makes total sense! With only one awesome issue to judge the series by and no “so so” issues yet, it belongs in the top 5 list of comics at THIS moment we dig.

I was blown away by that first issue and I am looking forward to issue # 2 more then any other comic book coming out right now.

    • I agree with @ ghostmann, it had a spectacular first issue so of course alot of people will favor it. As long as Lemire knocks the other 7 out of the park I think Trillium’s fans will just grow and grow. I think when it’s over we’re gonna need a cigarette and “Man, I’ll never forgot THAT”.

  80. Yeah was about to say the same thing about Trillium only having one issue out.

    For me:

    Daredevil
    Wonder Woman
    Saga
    Wolverine & the X-Men
    Fatale

Private Eye, Lazarus, and Satellite Sam are all excellent but I feel like they haven’t been out long enough to warrant inclusion.

  81. My top five in order:

    1. Wonder Woman
    2. Manhattan Projects
    3. Saga
    4. Batman
    5. Young Avengers

Note: i’m trade waiting several marvel now books ($4/x2 shipping) to keep my pull list manageable.

I’m also enjoying the crazyness of Justice League, deal with it:)

  82. I live for top five lists! This is a great article. I have already sent the link to a bunch of friends who just got into comics, great page to send people who want to get into some good new stuff.
Anyways onto the business at hand.

    No particular order:

    Batman
    Saga
    The Wake
    Trillium
    Thor: God of Thunder

I know Trillium has just been one issue but I had to think what I am currently most excited to see hit the stands, and that is definitely Trillium!

  83. Alright, let’s go:

    1. Batman
    2. Daredevil
    3. Lazarus
    4. Hawkeye
    5. Trillium

Honorable mentions include Satellite Sam, Saga, and Young Avengers.

  84. My turn!

    Wonder Woman
    Young Avengers
    Manhattan Projects
    Saga
    Thor: God of Thunder

(if I could have 6…Avengers Arena.)

  85. No order

    Detective Comics
    Batman: The Dark Knight
    Green Lantern Corps
    Green Lantern
    The Flash

  86. Indestructible Hulk
    Anti-Hero
    Saga
    East of West
    Private Eye

  87. Saga
    Chew
    All-New X-Men
    Wonder Woman
    Nowheremen

  88. Whelp, let us add to this mash of lists.

    Batman/Superman
    Uncanny Avengers
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Nowhere Men
    The Flash

Yeah, that ended up being super generic Justice League could have made it but I just read “Grumpy Old Fan” and how much the arcs might start running together like GL the past few years and…I don’t know if I can handle it again.

  89. Most of those picks line up pretty squarely with what I’m reading. Note to Paul, Gabe, and Jeff: I find your lack of “Saga” disturbing.

    My picks:

    Saga

    Avengers Academy

    All New X-Men

    Hawkeye

    Uncanny Avengers

  90. Can’t resist …

    Hawkeye
    Saga
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Manhattan Projects
    Lazarus

Honourable mentions – Daredevil, East of West, and Young Avengers

  91. No particular order:

    The Unwritten
    Fatale
    Daredevil
    Hawkeye
    Astro City

We really are spoiled for choice at the moment – this list could be totally different depending on my mood on any given day.

  92. Hmm….This is tough so I can’t say this is in any particular order:

    The Wake
    Daredevil
    Deadpool
Avengers/New Avengers (I’m putting this as a tie only because, as a whole, they work well together. Plus Infinity is making it a strong case for both)
    The Manhattan Projects

  93. Daredevil
    Peter Panzerfaust
    All-New X-Men
    Thor: God of Thunder

Good lord, that’s a heavy bunch….having a tough time finding a fifth that can compare. Too bad Fury Max is over,

  94. – Hawkeye
    – Saga
    – Wonder Woman
    – Daredevil
    – Fatale

  95. New Avengers
    Saga
    Batman/Superman
    Wonder Woman
    Manhattan Projects

  96. Thanks again, y’all.

Just made a nice reading list that’ll last all winter long.

    Cheers!

  97. Daredevil
    East of West
    Young Avengers
    Star Wars: Legacy
    Mind the Gap

  98. 2000 AD
    Weekly Shonen Jump
    Savage Dragon
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Saga

    • Who let this this guy in?

      😉

    • You mean the guy with the big balls that admitted to reading “sonic the hedgehog” ghostmann, ha. Seriously everyone should read “Day of chaos” from last years 2000AD, it was something special. You 2 Ghostmann, I think it’s in a 2 part collected edition now.
I was a loyal savage dragon reader from 1-150 but man i needed a break. Erik Larsen is a super nice and funny guy in real life b.t.w.
I don’t know what weekly shonen jump is though.

    • You’re right! The-motherfucking-Adventurer just rose in the ranks of iFanboy coolness with that Sonic pick! Is there some kinda cross over/mega event happening with Sonic and Donkey Kong Jr or something? “Rise of the Gold Coins War”? I gotta check that out.

Shonen jump is a Manga anthology thingy-ma-jobber.

    • Thanks for the info Gmann.

  99. Saga
    Walking Dead
    Revival
    Daredevil
    Thor

I just started reading Walking Dead and Revival in trades. I picked up Revival after I heard you guys mention it on the podcast. Great book!

  100. Justice League
    Red Hood and the Outlaws
    Aquaman
    Green Lantern
    Justice League of America

I’m one of the New 52 fans DON”T JUDGE ME 🙂

  101. Indestructible Hulk
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    X-O Manowar
    Archer and Armstrong
    Saga

  102. Batman
    Smallville season 11
    Superman/Batman
    Justice league
    Daredevil

  103. My top 5
    Daredevil
    Deadpool
    Batman 66
    All Star Western
    Batman

That wasn’t easy to come up with a top 5. Nice to see nobody trashing anybody else’s list too.

  104. Wonder Woman
    FF
    Ten Grand
    Astro City
    Trillium

  105. My top 5 are exactly Conor’s top 5.

Outside of Batman and Saga I don’t have a single non-Marvel book on my list until about #16, I can’t believe how many great books Marvel is putting out right now. It’s incredible.

And to be clear, I love books like Revival, The Private Eye, Lazarus, Satellite Sam, various DC books, and much more. I just think Marvel is putting out the best books right now.

    • @LeviHunt15 My comment was posted just after yours and it echoes your sentiments about Marvel. They have so many great books and I think Marvel Now was a lesson in how to do a successful relaunch.

  106. Well I can’t resist a list.

I’ve said this so many times but there really is so many great books coming out each week. It is a great time to be a comic book fan.

    No order:

    Saga
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Hawkeye
    Daredevil
    The Wake

Why are we only allowed five?! It’s too hard. On a different day I could have Mind MGMT, Fatale, The Massive, Young Avengers, Archer & Armstrong, Batman, The Private Eye, Superior Foes of Spiderman, Trillium (even one issue in!).
I used to be a DC guy but Marvel is putting out better books at the moment. And Image is still killing it.

  107. No particular order, and bearing in mind that, like most folks, this list changes daily:

    Daredevil
    Thor: God of Thunder
    Wonder Woman
    Batman ’66
    Aaaaaaaaaand…
Y’know what? I’m gonna go with Scarlet Spider.

  108. Animal man
    Hawkeye
    Prophet
    Daredevil
    Archer and Armstrong

  109. My. Top five
    5. All new xmen
    4. Manhattan projects
    3. Trillium
    2 Indestructible Hulk
    1. Sex
Am I the only one that thinks Sex has been great so far?

  110. As I did my top five I thought of a second tier top 5
    5. Chew
    4. New avengers
    3. Batman
    2 Thor
    1. Saga

I think my two top 5 s are really interchangeable month to month

  111. My Top 5:
    Thor: God of Thunder
    New Avengers
    Green Arrow
    Batman
    Uncanny Avengers

  112. Oh jeez……Lemme think:

    1. Prophet
    2. Manhattan Projects
    3. Saga
    4. Hawkeye
    5. Thor

I would have put Nowhere Men on there too but considering it comes out, like, twice a year and there are only something like 5 issues, I left it off. Also, Sheltered is super good but there’s only 2 issues.

  113. Ok. I guess it’s my turn.
    So…in no particular order…
Ultimate Spider-Man, Aquaman, Saga, Thor aaaaaad…Wonder Woman…sounds about right.
Runners up: Batman, Daredevil, Justice League, All-New X-Men and Hellboy(even though it’s been a while since the last issue. THE only reason it’s not in my top 5.). 😀

  114. Batman
    Saga
    Daredevil
    Ultimate Comics Spider-Man
    All-New X-Men

  115. JML (@twitter.com/JoshMLabelle) says:

    Hawkeye
    Saga
    All-New X-Men
    Daredevil
    East of West

I’m not including limited series like The Wake or Trillium. New Avengers might have had a spot on here but it’s kind of lost its identity as it’s been sucked up into Infinity. I think I can comfortably say that if I was reading no other comics but these above five, I’d be satisfied.

  116. Saga
    Batman
    Hawkeye
    Injustice
    Wonder Woman

  117. My Top 5:
    Hawkeye
    Wonder Woman
    Thor: God Of Thunder
    Nowhere Men
    Young Avengers
