Tom Fowler’s Kamandi Searches and Destroys

Most of the time, I save the good sketches I find for Weekly Sketch Up, but sometimes an image behooves it’s own post. Such is the case with Tom Fowler’s Kamandi, based on this week’s loose Comic Twart theme, DC Comics.

Says Tom:

About a year ago I realized that the Stooges’ song “search and destroy” could have been literally based on KAMANDI from start to finish. So of course what else would I do but plot out a KAMANDI story based on the song? …From start to finish.

It is time for a Kamandi comic book, is it not? Then we can throw a few bucks towards the Kirbys a the same time. Wins all around!

I’d buy that for a dollar!

It could tie in with Demon Knights too! What with the exploding babies and all.

That is a great interpretation of the song’s lyrics. I’ll never be able to listen to it again without thinking about Kamandi. Thanks for posting this.

Getting an original vinyl copy of that album for my birthday last year was one of the coolest things ever. I’d buy this with a fury never before seen by mortal men.

A dude in one of my bands constantly wanted to cover that song. I always told him “yea dude… that’d be cooool…” but purposefully never brought it up. We got thrashing to do! No time to slow down for the stooges!

I don’t even know that song and that is awesome….

  7. If DC can make a (shockingly) good OMAC comic, then a Kamandi comic should be a no-brainer.

Exploiting this product to it’s fullest is long overdue. The story needn’t even be in ‘cannon.’ Prime property for an OGN.

[There. Did that sound 'viable' enough for the bean counters?]

    Hells to the yes.
