TEASER: Brian Wood Returns To Marvel With Wolverine… and Quentin Quire!

In August at FanExpo in Canada, Marvel released a very stark teaser that revealed that writer Brian Wood was coming back to Marvel and it hinted at Wolverine. No, just in time for New York Comic Con, Marvel has released another teaser, this time confirming Wolverine and adding in the polarizing Quentin Quire! What does Brian Wood have in store for us? Speculate below!

Comments

  1. This looks very cool marvel can take my money now

  2. OMG, amazing art, hope this will be the #1 cover!
Definitely going to sub to this series.

  3. Wolverine looks pretty steampunkish. Alternate universe?

  4. what the hell is all that shit on logan? looks more like a cable/logan mix

  5. More pouches. We need more pouches!

  6. Wolverine looks like an old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle character, what with all that junk all over him. I like it!

  7. Old Bag Lady Logan.

  8. I think this is the first time in awhile that I have seen a Marvel teaser and was genuinely excited.

  9. Doesn’t Daken rock a mohawk(apparently now pink) still? Maybe they are tasking Wood with making Daken a cool character……. is that even possible??

  10. Brian Wood is great, but please, don’t let him take over Wolverine from Jason Aaron! I know hes been writing the character for, like 30 issues, if you include Weapon X, BUT ITS SO GOOD!

That said, who read Wood’s Gen X? Opinions?

  11. What’s going on in the city behind Wolverine? Is this Logan in the DMZ? Nice.

  12. i really liked wood’s work with the New york Four/Five. Even thought this is really diffrent, he’s still a great writer. And this image is pretty too. Who drew it? I’m thinking Mark Brooks.

  13. Does this mean that Aaron is off Wolverine? Or is the character getting another title.

  14. Wow, beautiful. (*intrigued*)

This is a much better-looking teaser than some of the other recent stuff.

  15. Im not familar with woods work but it looks good

  16. Wolverine in a post-apocalyptic steam-punk future, awesome!!!

  17. Who’s Quentin Quire and why is he so polarizing?

    • He was a Grant Morrison creation from the New X-Men days of about 10 years ago. I haven’t read those issues in a while, but he was kind of a nihilistic angry teenager who boosted his psionic powers with a drug called Kick. Recently he kicked off the Schism mini-series by embarrassing a bunch of world leaders. Cyclops and Wolverine had differing opinions on how to handle him and those opinions grew up to become the titular Schism — so I guess they mean polarizing to the character. Among fans, I think he’s generally well regarded.

  18. Logan, in his “worst dressed days” section of GQ. We all have a days off once in a while. Now on which one did I put my lighter in…

  19. How does Logan where goggles AND a gas mask? And what’s in all those pouches? He looks a little like when Bruce Wayne disguised himself as the fat old bag lady in Dark knight Returns.

  20. This does look really cool and I’m intrigued by this teaser. I like Brian Wood’s writing but I’m also concerned about what this means for Jason Aaron on Wolverine, because I am absolutely loving his current work on the character. Oh well, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.

  21. Wolverine really needs a giant gun of some sort to pull that look together.

  22. Quintin Quire is polarizing??

  23. Step 1. Make Logan look like Logan.
    Check.
    Step 2. Make him bada$$.
    Check.
Step 3. Open bank account and give Marvel my money.
    Check.

Seriously, I love a good Logan/Wolverine story. IMO there is no other better/dynamic/moody/heroic/evil comic book character. sometimes he’s written way off but if the writer sticks with the ‘real’ Logan/Wolverine there’s nothing better out there. They’ve got the look down for this splash page now if the writing even comes close to the artwork being shown here I’m all over it like white on rice.
