SAGA Artist Fiona Staples Heralds the Apocalypse in Cowpuncher Music Video

This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but a Guernsey.

It’s the end of the world as we know it, but with artist Fiona Staples at the drawing board, that’s just fine.

Rosencrantz Comics offers up this blend of comics and music heralding the end of days. Take a short comic called “Spiraling into Now Here” from James Davidge as illustrated by Fiona Staples with some bovine intervention from alt country group Cowpuncher and you’ve got not quite a motion comic, but something still quite moooooving.

“Spiraling into Now Here”, a short comic story written by James Davidge (Thirteen Minutes, Mathemagick & Mystiphysics and the Driftwood Saga) and illustrated by superstar artist Fiona Staples, has been made into a music video for “Can’t Save the World” from the Cowpuncher album “Call Me When You’re Single”.

The story, originally created in 2006, will appear in My Modern Panic: Short Stories by James Davidge, to be published in October 2012 by Rosencrantz Comics, a division of Bayeux ArtsMy Modern Panic is a collection of tales that explore various social issues with heart, humor and woe.

  1. That video was udder-ly insane. Nice to see some earlier work by Staples.
