Ah, yes. The pre-Superbowl Superbowl teaser video teaser thing. A new tradition as American as the sport itself. But your stars are about to be spangled to even spanglier heights with a brief glimpse at Don Cheadle as James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes in garish Iron Patriot armor. It’s just a tease of the tease with which we’ll be teased as the Ravens take on the 49ers this Sunday. A little more iron for your gridiron.

Oh, and we’ve got ourselves a new teaser poster too. Tony is still reeling from his cosmic free fall at the end of last year’s Marvel’s The Avengers. Then, who wouldn’t be. That was a long drop. Although…isn’t that his new armor? Tony and gravity just don’t mix.
Iron Man 3 works through the trauma on May 3rd.

I read an interesting rumor the other day about the movie possibly tying into the current books. Without giving anything away I’ll just say that the poster almost sorta-kinda confirms it.
That interests me cause I know the Iron Patriot uniform is being used in the upcoming Secret Avengers and since War Machine was/is a Secret Avenger, him donning it in IronMan 3 would make sense and tie into the comics as well.
Also not to mention that the upcoming Secret Avengers book is basically an all S.H.I.E.L.D. agent team, the Hulks a shield agent in his solo book and half the new S.H.I.E.L.D.Avengers team 1st appeared in IronMan’s films before any other Marvel ones.
