Preview: BLOODSHOT #0 by Matt Kindt

Next month Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT) traces the jigsaw pattern history of one of Valiant’s most enigmatic figures. And that’s saying something. Kindt seems a perfect candidate to declassify the hellacious case file of Project Rising Spirit’s deadliest warrior in a standalone issue ideal for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Today, check out an early preview of Bloodshot #0 from Kindt and artist ChrisCross.

From the darkest days of World War II and Korea, and through the hell of Vietnam and Afghanistan, Bloodshot’s origin leaves a bloody trail of discarded lives and forgotten families. But which memories are real? Which families? Which children? Is Bloodshot many men…or no man at all? Is he simply a soulless killing machine or something more? Who is responsible? And why have they engineered the most dangerous weapon ever conceived by man?

Before Bloodshot begins an all-new mission in Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #14, discover the definitive origin of the man behind the machine right here in Bloodshot #0, on sale August 21st!

Now, how’s about that preview?

Comments

  1. Bloodshot has never been one of my favorite Valiant characters (I’ve only read one issue of the relaunch), but I’ll be picking this up for Kindt. Does anyone know if he’s going to be on the title regularly, or just for the zero issue?

Preview looks good — hoping that I can get the Kindt variant . . .

    • I think it’s just the zero. I’m pretty sure i heard Christos Gage takes the title after Harbinger Wars.

    • I wish it was Kindt. I’m not much of a fan of Christos Gage. I’ll give it an issue, but Gage means this might be the first Valiant title I drop.

    • So Bloodshot is being renamed Bloodshot and Hard Crops? I’ve seen ads for that book with Gage listed as the writer.

Personally, Gage is a mixed writer, some of his stuff I’ve liked more than others. As I said, my interest in the character isn’t that strong to begin with, so I’ll probably just be getting #0. On the plus side, that leaves more wiggle room in my budget for The Eternal Warrior . . .

  2. I hope there is still a little shroud of mystery regarding Bloodshot’s past when this is over. I like not knowing his origin completely.

  3. Like if you replaced half the spaces on Comics’ Wheel of Fortune with Matt Kindt and spun you’d be right.

    • Yeah, I don’t get it. He must write super fast or something. Maybe he has a team of writers working under him, a writer factory or something.

I’ve heard lots of good things about his writing, but I haven’t really enjoyed anything I’ve read by him yet.
