PHOTO: Adrianne Palicki in the Classic Wonder Woman Costume

NBC may have passed on David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman pilot, but WonderWoman.tv still managed to get their hands on one last picture. Adrianne Palicki gets her Lynda Carter on in the classic, no-pants Wonder Woman costume. Personally, I liked the two previous versions of the costume, but this one just hits all the right chords with me (well, aside from the kind of creepy dude).

What say you, iFanbase? Better? Worse? Completely Awesome?

What is Duncan Goodhew doing there? This is an odd photo. This guy also looks either sweaty or made of wax. Possibly both.

Why did they insist on making her costume out of what appears to be pvc? Surely they would have got more traction with the show if it looked a bit less like fancy dress?

  2. player1 player1 says:

    It looks terrible. Ugh.

  3. makes me wonder how we can sleep when our beds are burning.

  4. db8coach db8coach says:

I don’t mind any of the costumes.  I’m not a fan that is “married” to perfect adaptations.

@justincresswell  I knew I recognized him from somewhere!

  6. mp says:

    Daaaaamn.

  7. HailScott HailScott says:

@justincresswell  ”Who’s gonna save me?” he wondered, then realized Wonder Woman was in the general vicinity.

    @justincresswell  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. s1lentslayer s1lentslayer says:

I wonder if the pilot will end up anywhere online.

  10. Gerry Lopez nudebuddha says:

Maybe I’m alone in this, but I think the “Wonder Woman” costume Lois wore on that one episode of Smallville would be pretty great.

    I’ll be in my bunk.

  12. rjspring rjspring says:

What is the observer from Fringe doing on the Wonder Woman set?  Damn, those guys are everywhere!

  13. Least he’s not hover-handing.

  14. LucasEwalt says:

    kind of creepy?

  15. JNewcomb JNewcomb says:

Belt could be smaller but it’s a cool version of the costume.

  16. Slockhart Slockhart says:

So was the plan to give her a new costume every commercial break?

  17. Difficult to take this character seriously when they keep dressing her up like a sorority girl on Halloween.

  18. Captyn Captyn says:

Sort of morbidly interested in seeing this…

Not really aware of this actresses work, but I hear she’s good, but she is having to fight that costume to look good. Just about everything is horrible, I won’t say ‘wrong’ because there isn’t one true version of any superhero’s costume, but the shiny plastic look is vile. I know there has been some changes made in the comic regarding the tiara, but off the page its just too busy, and doesn’t compliment her face at all. The same goes for the belt, boots and bracelets.

There has been a trend on film recently of making the costume really ‘busy’, tiny ‘S’ symbols all over the Superman Returns costume, the Spider-Man costumes, also suffered from this, its too much.

  19. Superyan Superyan says:

I’m really don’t understand the complaints about the costume… Honestly… It looks fine!  Great infact!

As far is this pic is concerned, I’m much more creeped out by the entity standing next to her!!!!!  Who or what in the blue hell is that???????????????????

  20. ccarney ccarney says:

I liked them all. I like this one because of the classic feel.

  21. reg5000 reg5000 says:

    That is a creepy dude.

  22. Pants are better.

  23. CaeuZokul CaeuZokul says:

I’m really glad to finally see Adrianne in the classic costume. It’s a wonderful update of Lynda Carter’s look. I think costume designers understand just how hard it can be to make costumes from the comics page look and behave well on the screen. Mix that in with the creative mind’s need to put ones’ own stamp on something that’s gone before, and you have all of the variations for superheroes’ outfits we see on TV and in the movies.

    And all of that having been said, as we’ve all known for seventy years, this is one sexy costume!@font-face { font-family: “Cambria”; }@font-face { font-family: “Univers 55″; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: “Times New Roman”; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; }

  25. Goaduk Goaduk says:

    Isn’t that Conor?

  26. its just so far beyond ridiculous…

  27. kennyg kennyg says:

I’d like to see a better quality photo of her in the suit to really judge. And one where she’s not standing next to Voldemort in a track suit.

I keep hoping this will get leaked to the internet somehow.

  28. @kennyg  –HAHAHA Voldemort in a track suit. I LOL’ed for real.

  29. Firevine Firevine says:

She looks like a completely different actress in each of the three shots I’ve seen.

    As for the costume;

Hmm…  I, uh…I need some…um…time to think about it.  I’ll be in my bunk.

  30. edward edward says:

yeah… it actually looks exactly like the character from the comics

  31. itsbecca itsbecca says:

This just makes the pants (though preferably not shiny pants) look way better. I spend enough time watching women run in heels, but in a swimsuit as well. It’s just silly.

  32. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

    @edward  Not at the moment.

  33. kennyg kennyg says:

@itsbecca  Really? Given that it’s 2011, I was holding out for a thong version.

  34. optic00085 optic00085 says:

Wow, I’m glad that NBC isn’t picking this up….It looks….TERRIBLE

  35. icn1983 icn1983 says:

I don’t claim to be a fashionista but that belt looks awful.  Honestly, I think the skirt is best because it has more of an Athenian vibe.

  36. Powder was one helluva movie.

  37. nastysnow says:

Ugggg so glad this show didn’t get picked up she’s no damm linda carter now that was a five star fine women

  38. ShaunR ShaunR says:

    The pants look better!

  39. edward edward says:

    heh… powder

  40. Mike Romo mikeromo (@rikemomo) says:

I look at these photos and the bruhaha and I just can’t help but feel bummed for Adrianne.  I mean, I am sure she will bounce back from this, but I think it took a lot of guts for her to just got for it and take a role that had such a huge degree of mockability, a role that required her to wear this crazy get up and take it all seriously.  From the stills I have seen, she seemed to be having a great time and I think it’s a shame that NBC didn’t just go for it. It would have been really cool for Wonder Woman to have made it onto the screen and can’t help but think that she would have been kind of a terrific role model for girls these days.

    Oh well.

  41. multispaz says:

If you are really a fan of Wonder Woman, you should show your appreciation. This way the world’s most popular super heroine might get some respect.
