Oh, Horsemen Feathers! UNCANNY X-FORCE: ‘The Dark Angel Saga’

I think you know how I feel about mutants. Filthy. Repugnant. A menace.

But Uncanny X-Force? One of the best books on the racks. We call it the X-book for people who don't read the X-Men. We used to call X-Factor that. But this is the new one.

And if you've been reading Uncanny X-Force (and if you haven't, pick up this week's Must Have, collecting the first three issues), you'll know that Warren Worthington is concerned about his inner demons.

Well, looks like things aren't going so well for Warren, or for his moral support Psylocke. Because Marvel just announced Stephanie Meyer's Rick Remender's "The Dark Angel Saga."

It all starts in issue #10.

We'll have a few more details next weekend, when Marvel exfoliates upon it at C2E2.

I have a bad feeling that Angel is going to be the new Apocalypse.

  4. gobo gobo says:

@Minion  That idea gives me a good feeling

  5. ohcaroline ohcaroline says:

This is some shenanigans, I’ll tell you what.  But if it ends with Cyclops cradling Angel’s body while yelling “Noooo!!!” at the sky, I take it all back.

  6. warmachine15 warmachine15 says:

Is he becoming Jessica Alba? That’d be epic.

  7. @ohcaroline  It’s an X-Over. They all end like that.

  8. genelaw9 genelaw9 says:

Jerome Opeña?  Please let it be so.

  9. is this a mini series or a new Uncanny arc?

  10. PraxJarvin PraxJarvin says:

Suddenly Chuck Austen’s “vision” for Warren doesn’t seem so bad! :-p

  11. cubman987 cubman987 says:

Very little info but this sounds like it could be good, wish they were announcing more about it on Saturday at C2E2 instead of Friday though….

  12. OttoBott OttoBott says:

@genelaw9  Current solicits are saying Billy Tan.

  13. rjspring rjspring says:

I hope this whole run is released on Marvel Digital soon…

  14. Remender says:

Issues 8-10 are Billy Tan/Dean White. 11-13 are Mark Brooks/Dean White. 14-18 are Jerome Opeña/Dean White.

  15. Jediaxle Jediaxle says:

I think I need to turn in my X-card because I haven’t been reading this.  I was thinking I would pick up in trade but I think I made a bad choice.  If mutant-hater Paul digs it I have to love it right?

  16. FoeApple FoeApple says:

Am I the only one whos really friggen excited?!

  17. I dunno, its a real regression for the character on the one hand but I guess on the other…he’s been boring for 20 years until they brought the death thing back

  18. MegaPhilip MegaPhilip says:

@FoeApple  Nope. I’m stoked! Remender has been killing it and this looks like the goodness will continue.

  19. froggulper says:

Sounds good. This is such a great series. Glad iFanboy turned me onto it, and glad that Marvel published that nicely priced #1-3 reprint this week!

  20. Poopmonster Poopmonster says:

Heroes in the marvel u can’t catch a break, and if your a mutant forget about it.

  21. doctorsporen doctorsporen says:

Shaking my head. They are gonna ‘lose’ Warren, just as things were looking up.

  22. Cormac Cormac says:

I am refusing to read this on the grounds that it appears there may be consequences for some of the characters.

But seriously…why is Marvel still letting Billy Tan draw? Is he cheap or something? Who likes this stuff?

  23. Why is Warren blue with metal wings again? Was that ever explained? I haven’t followed the character much in the past few years. I first became a Warren fan when he was in the Defenders (Yes, I know he was in X-Men first, but he wasn’t around for most of the X-Men stories I love.). then he was in X-Factor, one of my favorite comics ever. That’s when he got blue with metal knife wings to make him more “90s” or whatever. That’s fine. But then his metal wings broke and he had normal old-school Angel wings and blue skin. Then his blue skin turned white again during his secondary mutation when he became the greatest blood donor of all time. I pretty much stopped reading X-men around this point, and have no clue what happened to make him revert to blue/metal wings. Anyone care to fill me in?

  24. @johnvferrigno- i cant help cause thats when i stopped reading too. damn, you reminded me why, that chuck austen stuff was awful!
