New Comics for 12/08/2010 will be getting their Christmas tree this weekend

Get to pulling this Wednesday's books, and then let us know what you're looking forward to most, what you're dropping, what others should be buying and anything you're thinking. Be heard, because we need you, iFanbase!

What are the iFanboys buying? Check their pull lists out here: Conor, Ron, and Josh.

And what about the rest of the staff? What are they buying? Check out their pull lists: Dave, Jim, Paul, Mike, Chris, Tom, Molly, Ryan, Josh, Ben, Ali, and Matt.

This week Conor has the Pick of the Week!

Bonus Question: When someone tells you that they prefer a fake Christmas tree, is the proper method of exacting street justice:

Jam wreaths over their head until they are covered from ankles to shoulders and then roll them down a hill?

or

Strap them to a chair and engage in Chinese eggnog torture while the dogs who bark Christmas songs play on a loop?

  1. SuperMoore SuperMoore says:

DCU Holiday special is what I’ll be grippin on, and Hot buttered rum is what I’ll be sippin on!

  2. SuperMoore SuperMoore says:

BQ: I say the wreath method…

  3. WeaklyRoll WeaklyRoll says:

ooo i like the second one!

  4. Avistann Avistann says:

Really light week for me. I only got widowmaker and flash. I might pick up superboy issue 2

  5. corpseed corpseed says:

Phew!! No comics this week for me! My wallet needs a break. Can anyone tell me what that new Planetary book is? Is it the Planetary/Authority and the Planetary/Batman one shots collected together?

  6. ohcaroline ohcaroline says:

The “I Am an Avenger” anthology series has been unusually good for that type of book.  The continuing Justice/Firestar series by Sean McKeever is a must for anybody with fondness for those characters.  Plus I see Colleen Coover & Lucy Knisely listed in the credits and any new work by those cartoonists is worth paying attentin to.

BQ: The best Christmas-related torture surely involves repeated playing of the Chipmunks Christmas song, right?

  7. SirCox SirCox says:

Really light week for me. Thank the Zeus.

    BQ:I use a fake tree…………..

  8. purplehulk purplehulk says:

Good to be back to a 15 plus book week!

  9. Ali Colluccio WonderAli (@WonderAli) says:

BQ: The former. The latter should only be used when there is no hope for conversion.

  10. TheGoose TheGoose says:

Alas, I’m going to have to skip THUNDER Agents #2. I need to save my money to buy gifts for my family.

I would have to go for the former street justice. Not cruel, but it gets your point across.

  11. s1lentslayer s1lentslayer says:

Some of us have allergies so a fake tree preference seems perfectly acceptable:)

  12. ed209AF ed209AF says:

    excited for widowmaker
BQ: i own a fake tree. i will egg nog torture myself

  13. This is a murder of a week.

    DCU Christmas Special
Batman: The Widening Gyre Volume 1
    Captain America: No Escape
    Irredeemable Volume 5
    Superman/Batman: Big Noise
Thor the Mighty Avenger Volume 1

  14. stuclach stuclach says:

BQ: I also use a fake tree.  I’m a cheapskate.  (I wouldn’t decorate at all if it weren’t for the wife and kids.)

  15. cahubble09 cahubble09 says:

Definitely looking forward to Project Superpowers Christmas Special #1   ;)

  16. fatespears fatespears says:

Tiny Titans/Lil Archie! What fun the first one was. DCU Chistmas special looks cool too.

  17. ghos7man ghos7man says:

    Light week.

Probably just gonna get 27 #1.

    Fake trees > real trees.

  18. ato220 ato220 says:

Really looking forward to 27 #1 and Flash #7.

BQ: I would probably strap enough fireworks to their tree to make the Saturn V look like a m-80 and then sing the Star Spangled Banner as I sent it into orbit.  Make sure you keep your tree watered though and those stands with the spike are amazing, but don’t forget to have them drill the hole at the bottom of your tree.

  19. ActualButt ActualButt says:

    27 #1
    Fables #100
    New Avengers #7

BQ: There ain’t nothin’ wrong with a fake tree. The one I have generates the scent and everything!

  20. Neb Neb says:

I have a big week this week, but that’s only because I’m about 3 weeks behind.  Stupid holidays and travel weddings.  I’ll be back on track this week.  There’s lots to look forward to, and hopefully, everything got pulled while I was away.

BQ: Both options seem a bit extreme.  I’d much rather covertly pump the smell of pine trees into the house until it becomes unbearable.

  21. boomergirl boomergirl says:

Flash # 7, need I say why I’m excited for this.
BQ: I’ld go a differnt route and say whacked over the head with a pillow case full of last years fruit cakes. Put them to good use.

  22. odare77 says:

Pretty good week with major tradeage…Irredeemable, Sweet Tooth, Mighty Thor and Fables (it’s big enough to count).  Less in the way of issues, b ut Thunder Agents, Ciy of Demons and New Avengers among others should tide me over..

BQ: We have a fake..but if you can tell me where to find the extra time in the day to clear up the needles, maybe I’ll consider a real one.

  23. genelaw9 genelaw9 says:

Any possibility of getting an easy-to-click collection of iFanboy staff pull lists like this every week?  Especially when it’s a slow week like the last, I like checking out lists from people who might know a bit more about the writers and artists on certain projects.

  24. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

@genelaw9  The staff pull lists are posted every week just like this. They have been for years.

  25. Big week. Again. I buy too much.
27, Batgirl, Captain America: Korvac Saga, DCU Holiday Special, Detective Comics Annual, First Wave, Flash, Justice League: Generation Lost, Knight and Squire, New Avengers, Red Robin, Shadowland: After The Fall, Starborn, Superboy, THUNDER Agents, Thor, Thor: The Mighty Avenger, What If Wolverine Father, Widowmaker. Plus: Wildstorm Presents Planetary: Lost Worlds, Thor Mighty Avenger vol. 1, Sweet Tooth vol. 2…ouch

BQ:  I’ve never had a real tree. And I never will.

  26. mikeandzod21 mikeandzod21 says:

Thank God Fables 100 is coming out on a nice light week. It’s one of the few times comics release scheduling has actually made sense

  27. The dogs barking song for sure would drive me crazy fast.  We always have a REAL tree!

  28. I only have one book this week! And there is nothing else that looks interesting to pick up! Awesome!

    Superboy #2

BQ: I guess I’ll choose the least painful method since I am one of those people who has a fake tree every year.

  29. JBOGUZ JBOGUZ says:

This is a light week for me since they cancelled the bat books that where suppose to come out but still getting Fables #100, Red Robin #18, Thor The Mighty Avenger #7, New Avengers #7, and The Flash #7.

BQ: Probably just make them listen to Christmas chorales.

  30. AlanRob AlanRob says:

    11 books this week.

Most excited for Flash #7 and Widowmaker #1.  Most upset about the realization that Mystery Society will be finishing up as a mini.  We need more Fiona Staples in our lives.

BQ: I would also choose the least painful one, as I use a fake tree as well(I dont prefer it, but the carpet in my new house does).  So I guess I’ll go for the one WITHOUT those damn dog carols.

  31. GeenL1996 GeenL1996 says:

larfleez xmas comic for me and wreaths sounds good

  32. kenkneisel kenkneisel says:

Nothing on my pull list this week, just like last week. But I do have a few maybes. New Avengers, Superboy and Boo$ter Gold; listed in order of likelihood of purchase.

BQ: I don’t celebrate Christmas so I don’t really care one way or the other. However, if someone were to tell me that they prefer to watch Striptease on Kenmas rather than Showgirls, then we would need to have words.
