Comments

  1. Looking forward to East of West and Dial H.
    BQ: Crack!

  2. Great week with Avengers, All New X-Men, Abe Sapien, East Of West & the return of ASTRO CITY!!!!!!!!

    Earth 2

Not a bad haul, way better than the last few weeks. 🙂

  4. Superior Spider-man #11, Age of Ultron #9, Avengers #13, East of West #3, and Astro City #1 (if no delays happen)

My vice: Doughnuts and Ice Cream

  5. Nice quiet week!

    Age of Ultron
    Astro City
    Avengers Arena
    Superior Spider-Man

BQ: Ranch dressing. Also Criterion Blu Rays.

  6. All New X-Men, Avengers, Bedlam, Daredevil: End of Days, East of West, Iron Man, Locke and Key, The Victories: Transhumans, Green Arrow, Storm Watch, Rachel Rising
BQ: Cigarettes or junk food. Take your pick.

  7. BQ Chocolate chip cookies

  8. BQ: Taste aversion. Have a traumatic experience with soda and the problem is solved.

  9. Kind of a bigger week for me:

    Earth 2 #13
    Avengers #13
    East of West #3
    Daredevil: End of Days #8

BQ: coffee or whiskey, it’s a tie.

  10. East of West and All-New X-Men most likely the strongest candidates for POTW.

Oh, and lately it’s been Smores Pop-Tarts. A box of 12 lasts maybe, a day and a half – sometimes less. And I never toast them, just eat’em right out of the box – aint got time to cook that shit. =)

  11. East of West
    All New X-men
    Green Lantern
    Shadowman
    Green Arrow

BQ: Weed and lots of it. Just recently gave up coffee so nothing is getting done ever again.

  12. SWAMP THING #21
    EARTH 2 #13
    THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11
    ALL-NEW X-MEN #12
    EAST OF WEST #3
    ASTRO CITY #1 (COVER A)

    BQ loose women

    SOLO HC (DELUXE EDITION)

BQ: Milka chocolate with pieces of Daim.

  14. Bedlam #7, East of West #3, Earth 2 #13, Mister X: Eviction #2, Red Team #3, The Movement #2 & Uber #2.

A good week! Have dropped Green Lantern, (taking a break having been on board since ‘Rebirth’) & Green Arrow ( good stuff, but I’m avoiding tweaked origin arcs, they don’t appeal ).

    BQ : Guinness.

  15. Getting:

    Green Arrow
    The Movement
    Stormwatch
    Avengers

    Astro City (off the racks)

BQ: i’d say coffee, but in reality, it’s probably getting something to nibble on when i go out for coffee:)

  16. Huge week for me. Big comics of the week. X-Factor, Avengers Arena, Astro City, Dial H, Swamp Thing and Earth 2.

BQ: Nestle Drumsticks. God are they good.

  17. AGE OF ULTRON #9
    ALL NEW X-MEN #12
    AVENGERS ARENA #10
    EARTH 2 #13

I just re-read X-MEN #1 by Mr. Stan Lee and Mr. Jack Kirby. I still find it weird that young Jean Grey arrives to enroll in Xavier’s school without: a) her parents being with her; b) knowing what kind of school it is, esp one where she’s the only female student; c) ever having met Professor X! What a dangerous example to set for the young children reading this! Lol Also, I forgot that Scott’s “Slim” nickname had been set so early, and that Iceman wore pirate boots.

BQ: I’d say coffee, but so many current scholars suggest that coffee is surprisingly good for us, so… I guess that my biggest vice is late night web-surfing. At the very least, it robs me of precious sleep.

  18. THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11 – No Peter, no problem. This book just keeps rolling on, Slott keeps cementing his status as one of the great Spidey scribes.

    ASTRO CITY #1 – IT’S BACK, MOTHAFUCKAS

DAREDEVIL: DARK NIGHTS #1 – I like Lee Weeks, quite a lot. Can’t be as boring as the End of Days thing…right? Right!?

IRON MAN #11 – Free from the tyranny of Greg Land, Kieron Gillen has finally found an interesting Iron Man story to tell. But when Land’s photocopier returns for the shop and he’s back on drawing duties, will my interest still win out? Will the book be worth the price of those alien Tony Stark faces? Will the main bad guy here start looking exactly the bad guy from SWORD? Tune in next time, True Believers!

WINTER SOLDIER #19 – Final issue, huh? Just when the book was starting to hit it’s stride. Well, I’m looking forward to it’s inevitable return for Captain America 2!

SOLO HC (DELUXE EDITION) – I have all the issues of this and I’m still buying it. Help me.

  19. Avengers #13
Daredevil: Dark Nights #1 (can’t wait)
Daredevil: End of Days #8 (last one of a great series)
Green Arrow #21 (digging Lemire’s Arrow)
Legends of the Dark Knight #9 (best Batman series next to Batman)
    Mister X: Eviction #2

    BQ: Unfortunately, cigarettes.

  20. I have no books this week, as in zip, zero, zilch, nada.

    BQ: comics.

  21. Most looking forward to Dial H and Archer & Armstrong. Also getting Shadowman, Victories, Swamp Thing & Phantom Stranger. For my final book of the week it’s between Suicide Risk and Astro City; I’ll most likely be getting Astro City. The first issue of Suicide Risk wasn’t bad, but it didn’t wow me, I might still pick it up when I have a slow week, though . . .

  22. AGE OF ULTRON #9
    DETECTIVE COMICS #21
    GREEN ARROW #21
    GREEN LANTERN #21
    EARTH 2 #13
THE WALKING DEAD, VOL 18: WHAT COMES AFTER TP
    EAST OF WEST #3
    SOLO HC (DELUXE EDITION)
    THE MOVEMENT #2

BQ I think comic books are the only vice I have left.

  23. ALL-NEW X-MEN practically seems like required reading at this point (for an X-Men fan).

DETECTIVE on the other hand would not fall into the “required” category, but I’ve been reading it since 1988, so what’re you gonna do?

I’m excited to visit ASTRO CITY again. It’s cool that it’s a Vertigo title now.

The thing I’m most excited for is the SMURFS ANTHOLOGY VOL. 1, but I pre-ordered through Amazon so won’t actually be getting it until the 27th. One of the down-sides of Amazon.

BQ: does buying 20 or so $2.99 / 3.99 periodicals each month count as a vice?

  24. BATWING #21
    DETECTIVE COMICS #21
    EARTH 2 #13
    GREEN ARROW #21
    GREEN LANTERN #21
    DAREDEVIL DARK NIGHTS #1
    DAREDEVIL END OF DAYS #8
    SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11

    BQ: Potato chips

  25. Avengers
    Dial H
    East of West
    Ten Grand

BQ: I’m rooting for you josh! My biggest vice was Sunkist soda and I’m still in its grasp. But since going on a diet I’ve dropped from 14+ bottles a week to no more than 2 a week. Now I drink Sunkist 10, which is basically a diet version with a pinch of sugar. Still not healthy from drinking something that ISN’T soda but it is much better than what I used to do.

  26. AGE OF ULTRON #9

    BATWING #21

    DAREDEVIL: DARK NIGHTS #1

    EARTH 2 #13

    GREEN LANTERN #21

PLANET OF THE APES CATACLYSM #10

    SWAMP THING #21

TEN GRAND #2 (COVER B: SIENKIEWICZ)

  27. Iron Man, Superior Spider-man, X-Factor and Son of Merlin for me.

BQ: milk. I drink vast amount of milk.

  28. Booze & cigarettes. Luckily I only smoke now when I drink alcohol, which is about twice a week equalling roughly 4 cigarettes a week (down from a pack a day 3 or 4 years ago).
I also gave up sodas a few years back and drink carbonated water like pellegrino to replace that bubbly and crisp, refreshing feeling I got from downing a soda pop. I am much happier and healthier now.

  29. Biggest vice? Candy and pop. A dangerous combination.

  30. I’ve been waiting a long, long time to pull an issue of ASTRO CITY on iFanboy. So very excited to see it’s return! I may or may not check out the DD book. Lee Weeks is a legendary artist for a reason, after all. Not really a big Lone Ranger fan, but Francavilla sold me with that cover. I want that on my wall, big time! Really sad to see Winter Soldier go, Latour was telling a fun action/adventure story. Whatever he has on tap next, I’ll definitely be checking out.

    ASTRO CITY #1 (COVER A)
    DAREDEVIL: DARK NIGHTS #1
    EAST OF WEST #3
    IRON MAN #11
    THE LONE RANGER #15
    UBER #2
    WINTER SOLDIER #19

Biggest vice? I managed to cut sodas out almost completely, rarely smoke, drink 2% milk, don’t touch white bread, and I’ve managed to wheedle my dependence on pastries. That said? I don’t eat nearly the variety of greens I should. You offer me a choice of a burger or a cobb salad? I’m asking you where the bacon is.

  31. Ooh- a couple of Daredevil books!
BQ- superiority daydreams, hot dogs and assuming strangers are up for a chat.

  32. Marvel:

    Avengers
    Thanos Rising
    Age of Ultron

    DC:

    Green Lantern
    Swamp Thing

    Vertigo:

    Astro City

    East of West
    Ten Grand

    BOOM:

    Suicide Risk

BQ: Nothing. I’m not ashamed of anything I do. Also, soda is not a vice.

  33. Astro City
    Batwing
    Detective Comics
    Earth 2
    Green Arrow
    Legends of the Dark Knight
    Phantom Stranger
    The Walking Dead Vol 18

BQ: I gave up soda 2 years ago, so way to go Josh! I gave it up because I am a runner and the carbonation would give me cramps, even 1 day after I drank a soda. Now I don’t get cramps anymore. To get my caffeine now I drink coffee. Comic books are for sure my vice. I have tried to make the switch to trades over and over again. But my Wife just laughs at me when I re-add all of my normal titles to my pull list after dropping them a wee earlier. I had to switch to online ordering of comic books as my comic shop was getting frustrated with all of my drops and adds. That’s ok, it’s cheaper online anyway. And I can drop and add stuff as much as I want 😉

  34. Fairly light week. Was Hawkeye #11 delayed? I’ll take a look at Astro City in the shop. Looking forward to Avengers Arena the most.

ABE SAPIEN: DARK & TERRIBLE #3
    AVENGERS ARENA #10
    EARTH 2 #13
    IRON MAN #11
    RED SHE-HULK #66

BQ: So many vices. Endless TV, movies, comics, booze, smokes, high-fat/salt foods. I guess these would be more accurately defined as reality avoidance tools.

  35. AGE OF ULTRON #9
    AVENGERS ARENA #10
    DETECTIVE COMICS #21
    EMPOWERED SPECIAL #4: ANIMAL STYLE
LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #9
TEN GRAND #2 (COVER A: TEMPLESMITH)
    THANOS RISING #3
    THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11
    THUNDERBOLTS #10

Looking forward to Avenger’s Arena and Thanos Rising, hoping that Ten Grand #2 is a leap above the first issue.

BQ: I’m in the Martian Manhunter camp, I cannot get enough Oreos.

  36. Gonna be an expensive week:

    ASTRO CITY #1 (COVER A)
    AVENGERS #13
    BATWING #21
    BEDLAM #7
    EAST OF WEST #3
    GARTH ENNIS’ RED TEAM #3
    GREEN ARROW #21
    GREEN LANTERN #21
    KICK-ASS 3 #1
    POLARITY #3
    THE HYPERNATURALS #12
    THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11

BQ: I can’t say it, I am posting this from work!
