Comments

  1. BQ: Mad Men. An absolute masterpiece. I am looking forward to Game of Thrones but I have read a Feast for Crows so I don’t have the what’s going to happen this season? aspect.

    AGE OF ULTRON #3
    AQUAMAN #18
    CROSSED: BADLANDS #26
    UNCANNY X-FORCE #3
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #27
    UNCANNY AVENGERS #5
    FANTASTIC FOUR #5AU
    FF #5
    PLANETOID #5
THE LEGEND OF LUTHER STRODE #4
    FATALE #13
    EAST OF WEST #1

Another good looking week. I’m looking forward to Planetoid the most.

  2. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

    Breaking Bad

  3. Another great week with East Of West, Planetoid (conclusion), Massive, Batman Inc., Luther Strode, Clone, The Unwritten & All New X-Men HC!

BQ- Mad Men by a mile!!!

  4. Getting:

Batman Inc, The Flash, Justice League Dark
Fatale, East of west, Young Avengers.

May also get Savage Skullkickers & Green Hornet.

BQ: Doctor Who. Followed by Venture Bros.

  5. Pretty heavy week for me, but I’m happy to get all these great books.

BPRD: VAMPIRE- Ba and Moon are back, and I can’t wait to read this!
FATALE- Brubaker and Phillips continue to create an awesome tale.
FF- This issue is supposed to focus on Medusa, which sounds great to me.
I, VAMPIRE- I’ve been waiting to read these all in one go since I heard about the cancellation. Now that Fialkov is off his GL books too, I wonder what is next for him? Whatever it is I’ll give it a shot, I really enjoy his writing.
PLANETOID- I’ve been waiting for this to come out for a while now, great excuse to re-read the first 4 issues again. This has been a really solid debut by Ken Garing.
LUTHOR STRODE- More muscles and mayhem than you can shake a stick at, I don’t know if that saying applies here, but it’s fun to use. Seriously though this has been pretty good so far, Moore’s art is wonderful and Jordan keeps me interested with the storyline.
THE MASSIVE- This has been a fantastic book so far, this issue I believe starts off a round of one-shots, so it should be interesting to see how it all plays out.
THE UNWRITTEN- Last issue gave this new arc some needed juice, so I’m hoping that continues with this issue.
WITCH DOCTOR- This is a fun little horror series, that more people should read. Fantastic art, and a pretty sweet story.
YOUNG AVENGERS- So far I’ve enjoyed this series, I’m new to these characters save for Loki, but Gillen and Mckelvie are doing a great job.

BQ: Game of Thrones all the way, it’s time for Dany and her pets to kick some more ass!

  6. East of West #1
    Guardians of the Galaxy #1
    Uncanny Avengers #5
    Wolverine & the X-Men #27
    Age of Ultron #3
    FF #5
    Batman, Incorporated #9
    Young Avengers #3
    Powers #3
    American Vampire Vol. 5

BQ: Mad Men by a mile. Those other two shows are fun but Mad Men and Breaking Bad are the best shows on TV.

  7. Age of Ultron #3
    Aquaman #18
    Guardians of the Galaxy #1
    Scarlet Spider #15
    Superior Spider-man #6AU
    Uncanny Avengers #5

BQ: Doctor Who and Game of thrones

  8. BQ: Mad Men by far. GoT has not lived up to the greatness of the ASOIAF books and I gave up on the Walking Dead early this season.

    • BQ: Mad Men is unbelievably good. I actually care what happens to all those characters.. and most of them are aholes.. ha… and i still care about all of them. Agree 100% also about Got vs the Books.. Its a pretty good show but the books are out of this world (except for a feast for crows). And unfortunately Walking Dead pails in comparison to both of those shows and to the comic. It could be so much better. I watch it but im rarely ever moved by it. With most HBO, Showtime, AMC, and FX shows im finding that i no longer have to rely on movies to be moved my visual entertainment. We are so lucky to be watching the renaissance of TV.

  9. AGE OF ULTRON #3
    ALL-STAR WESTERN #18
    B.P.R.D.: VAMPIRE #1
    BATMAN, INCORPORATED #9
    EAST OF WEST #1
    FANTASTIC FOUR #5AU
    FATALE #13
    FF #5
    GUARDIANS OF GALAXY #1
    PLANETOID #5
    PREVIEWS #295: APRIL 2013
    RACHEL RISING #15
    THE MASSIVE #10
    THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #6AU
    THE UNWRITTEN #47
    UNCANNY AVENGERS #5
    UNCANNY X-FORCE #3
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #27

Probably looking forward to East of West the most, along with the conclusion of Planetoid and the ‘first’ issue of Guardians of the Galaxy.

BQ: It wasn’t a choice listed, but easily Breaking Bad.

  10. AGE OF ULTRON #3
    JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #18
    UNCANNY AVENGERS #5
    PLANETOID #5
    EAST OF WEST #1
    THE FLASH #18
    BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #18
    BATMAN, INCORPORATED #9
    AMERICAN VAMPIRE, VOL 05 HC

BQ. Walking Dead. Mad Men disappointed me last season, so I’m not that thrilled for it yet…and I’m reading book 5 of Game of Thrones now so I’m just not watching the shows. I like the previous posters mention of Breaking Bad…that is something I’m dying to see!

  11. BQ: I am pumped for the season finale of The Walking Dead. As for Mad Men & Game of Thrones I zero desire to watch either show.

    Matthew

  12. Big ones for the week. FF, Angel & faith, JLD, GotG and East of West.

BQ: Haven’t watched any of those shows.

  13. Finally a light week for me. But a good one. Looking forward to Batman Inc, Uncanny Avengers, and Fury Max.

BQ: Mad Men. There is nothing else. Best show on television.

  14. East of West #1, Fatale #13, Mister X: Hard Candy, Red Team #2, Aquaman #18, Batman Inc. #9 & Justice League Dark #18.

Looking forward to Mister X & East of West. I dropped The Flash from this week. Considering dropping JLD with the conclusion of this arc.

    BQ: Game of Thrones.

  15. What’s wrong with DC?
    Is it sick?
I’m a DC boy at heart, and yet only 1 of the 5 titles on my pull list this week (Batman Inc.) is from that publisher. The other 4 are Marvel titles.
    What is going on??

  16. Looking forward to game of thrones the most, sad that the breaking bad had such a large break mid season.

Dropping Dark Knight it is grim but getting boring, worst bat book.

Looking forward to East of West, Strode and

  17. small week for me…

  19. Just about everything DC. So sue me…

    BQ: The Walking Dead.

  20. Nice list this week.
    AMERICAN VAMPIRE, VOL 05 HC
    BATMAN, INCORPORATED #9
    EAST OF WEST #1
    MORNING GLORIES #25
    THE MASSIVE #10
THE UNWRITTEN, VOL 07: THE WOUND TP

    BQ: GoT!!

  21. Gonna be out of town, but…

    ALL-STAR WESTERN #18
    EAST OF WEST #1
    FATALE #13
    FURY MAX #10
    JOE KUBERT PRESENTS #6
    YOUNG AVENGERS #3

It’s funny, I used to read exclusively super hero stuff, but it looks as if those days are definitely over. Interested to check out East of West, All Star is always fun, and Fury Max? Wooooooo!

  22. Quite a busy week for me Aquaman #18, Age Of Ultron #3, Guardians Of The Galaxy #1, Flash #18, FF #5, Young Avengers #3, Justice League Dark #18, and going to try out East Of West #1 (like Hickmans work), Superman #18 (Orion is in it and love all that fourth world stuff), Superior Spider-man #6AU, Fantastic Four #5AU (wasn’t gonna bother with the AOU tie in’s but liked look of previews)

  23. The Flash
    Deadpool Killustrated
    Thunderbolts
    Kick Ass 2 TP

Dropping Superman now that the Hel crossover is over and may pick up Guardians of the Galaxy if the Deadpool variant is available at my shop.

  24. BQ: None of them cause I don’t watch them. But I’ll echo Callum by saying ‘Go Team Venture!’

    Aquaman
    Batman INC
    Clone
    East of West
    Talon

  25. Just FF #5, five Weapons #2 and Tower Chronicles, Geisthawk ol. 4 for me.

BQ: Mad Men all te way!

  26. Most excited for Young Avengers & Unwritten, though also looking forward to Fatale, Aquaman, Justice League Dark, and Journey into Mystery. I wasn’t blown away by Guardians of the Galaxy #0, but liked it enough to give the title a few issues before making a final decision. I think that I’m dropping Powers; I just can’t work up the excitement for it I used to have.

I’d definitely like to read Time Wrap, but, for budget reasons, it may need to wait until next week . . .

BQ: Can I vote for VEEP? (I still need to watch season five of Mad Men, but was disappointed with season 4).

    • Haha yes, Veep is a great show.

    • I just finished season one a couple weeks ago on demand, and can’t wait for the new one to start. It’s some really funny stuff . . . If you’re a fan, you should search out The Armando Iannucci Show. It’s by the same creator and is one of the most brilliant comedies I’ve ever seen. You can’t get it on US DVD but there are tons of clips on youtube . . .

  27. A great week…

    Answer #3 (Mike Norton!)
    Aquaman #18
    Batman Inc. #18
    Batman: The Dark Knight #18
Guardians of the Galaxy #1 ($3.99…ouch, but issue 0 was so good)
Superior Spider-Man (what is this like weekly now?)
    Previews catalog

BQ: I usually wait for DVD’s for TV shows. Have heard of these shows though…sounds good.
Saw a couple of episodes of Arrow recently — really enjoyed them. Might get the DVD this September.

  28. Light week with only 8 books. Batman Inc. is the must read for me right now.

BQ: I actually am more psyched for Game of Thrones than Mad Men. Both are good shows, but I JUST got caught up on Game of Thrones so I’m ready to see what’s next.

  29. Very light week and I can use it

    Fury Max

  30. A+X #6, Age of Ultron #3, Guardians of the Galaxy #1, Teen Titans #18, The Flash #18, Uncanny X-Force #3 & Wolverine and the X-Men #27
BQ: The Walking Dead season finale

  31. I hope East of West lives up to potential. Waid’s Green Hornet might be worth a go, too.

    FURY MAX #10
    POWERS: BUREAU #3
    FATALE #13
    EAST OF WEST #1
    THE FLASH #18
    ALL-STAR WESTERN #18

BQ: Mad Men, with Walking Dead dangerously close behind.

  32. Looking forward to Planetoid the most. I really dig that book and I though maybe it was cancelled or on hiatus. Interested to see what Waid does with Green Hornet.

    FURY MAX #10
    JOE KUBERT PRESENTS #6
    AQUAMAN #18
    MARK WAID’S GREEN HORNET #1
    PLANETOID #5
    ALL-STAR WESTERN #18

BQ: Definitely Mad Men. Walking Dead has evolved into a scripted version of Survivor but with crappier dialogue.
