Ignored!

I haven’t seen much about it in the regular comic sites, so I’m filling a void! I went to see American Splendor this weekend, and it was exceptional. Movies like the Hulk, Spider-Man, and X2 are getting all the press hype, and sometimes it’s deserved, but American Splendor really delivers. I recommend it to any comics reader, even if you’re unfamiliar with the work of Harvey Pekar.
American Splendor really raised the bar as far as I’m concerned when it comes to working in the comic book idiom. It played in and out of the medium and mixed narrative dramatization with documentary footage, animation, and interviews. It sounds like that would produce a jumbled mess, but it didn’t. Instead, an extremely well crafted film emerged; one that doesn’t seem to be getting the attention it deserves. So go check it out and tell us what you think.

Get someone to take you, or go yourself, just go before it’s gone.

I’ve heard nothing bad from anyone who’s seen it.
