FLASH #12 FACT: This Last Issue’s Gonna Hurt

DC has posted this image, a Francis Portela variant cover for Flash #12, the last issue of the current series.

The yellow police tape denotes either a major crime scene or the doorway to a rebellious teenager's bedroom in an ABC Family original series. We're guessing the former. It would also appear that someone has been murdered or a paintballer has defaced the scene from a passing Honda Element. But let's go with murdered in the face.

Who do we know that's shaped like a crosswalk symbol?

Flash reaches FIN in May.

    That’s a pretty great cover.

  2. Chuckenigma Chuckenigma says:

I’ve got 500 on it being Iris.  No, wait, I mean Wally.  F**k.  I don’t know.  Never mind.  #makeuppredictionsassoonaspossible

  3. powerdad powerdad says:

The head looks big to me. (Might be just foreshortening, but looks bigger than a usual human head.)

  4. Is it Swamp Thing?

  5. Neb Neb says:

The real question is:  will it be polybagged?

  6. I can’t wait to read this six months from now.

  7. If there is no hologram and skybox trading cards i’m done with comics forever. =)

  8. FoeApple FoeApple says:

I feel as if this covers way to similar to the C.S.I, flash one. Still good though.

  9. AmirCat AmirCat says:

    let’s hope it’s Iris

  10. thisisegan thisisegan says:

I hope it’s not Iris. Mopey ‘my wife just died’ heroes are not very fun.

  11. monkeypaw787 says:

Whoever it is will be back after Flashpoint. I’m hoping it’s not Wally mainly because I don’t want to sit through 6 months of bitching. This could be a flashback to Barry’s mother, though.

  12. WheelHands WheelHands says:

It might as well be Wally, considering how much we’ve seen of him since Final Crisis.

    Yours truly,
    Bitter Wally West Fan

  13. I like Wally more than Iris, so I’m rooting for Iris.  Geez that feels sick to type.  Although I dont see for the life of me how the loss of either would be so critical to the history of the DCU that every thing changes ala Flashpoint.  If we were talking about Superman not being found by the Kents, then okay.  But that was already done really well in The Nail.

  14. gaffergamgee gaffergamgee says:

I’m starting to think that it’s Barry and that the Flashpoint Universe is set up by Reverse Flash going back in time to kill Barry while leaving him alive in the future.

Just a theory, then again it’s probably Wally.

  15. harwellpkg harwellpkg says:

    Well, stickman is ruled out.

  16. halik halik says:

My guess is either Bart or Hot Pursuit.

  17. @ gaffergamgee you could be right, that issue of Flash featuring Reverse Flash killing anyone from his life that didnt act/do what he wanted them to do could be a preview of Barry getting removed…

  18. pyynk pyynk says:

    Captain Invincible perhaps?

  19. Not a bad cover except for Flash’s face. Ugh, he looks like a monster.

  20. MikePositive MikePositive says:

Well, Iris would make sense for setting up Flashpoint. I could also see Jay Garrick, since his being gone would have a big impact on Barry becoming Flash in the first place, and someone who I could even see them not bringing back for a while. Hoping it’s not Iris just because with Iris already having been murdered back in the day, it would feel pretty old hat for it to happen now, and Barry’s been so much about getting his life back that I think it would change his character too dramatically.

  21. I hope it’s both of Wally’s kids.  There, I said it.  :)

  22. DC has issue #13 solicited on their site.  So is it the final issue or not? http://www.dccomics.com/dccomics/comics/?cm=17819

Both #12 and #13 state:  “The Road to Flashpoint” concludes

  23. ajmortys ajmortys says:

Wow Barry is really late on this cover. They already found the body, removed it, taped down the imprint and left before he got there. tsk tsk

  24. Whoa @ PhantomPhrenemy, that’s hard core lol, but ya know what….I second that motion…never liked those characters.

  25. ed209AF ed209AF says:

Im thinking there going to do something similar to what they did in the x-men universe this time last yr.  They killed all the teleporters (nightcrawler included) to limit the number of outs the heroes had to escape the situation at hand.
This time it could be all the speedsters in the DCU; or atleast ground them for the upcoming series. Just speculation.

  26. mguy77 mguy77 says:

A Flash series ending in 12 issues.  Surprise, surpise!!!

    Matthew

  27. It doesn’t matter who dies.  Johns will just retcon it later.  He’s run out of other people’s stories to retcon so now he’s going to do it on his own.

    (I’ve been drinking.)

  28. Skyfire124 Skyfire124 says:

Call me cynical but I’m thinking Iris and I’m thinking its more or less “permanent”.  There was a lot of criticism that she should be too old, and not enough done to explain why she suddenly became so much younger…   and Patty Spivot is starting to feel like the beginning of a romantic interest.   A year down the road, I can see things being quite different.

  29. Well i like Wally too, but thats obvious. haha kidding…i think it has to be Iris. She’s been this recurring theme and motivation for the whole run.
