The most celebrated comic-inspired video game of all time swoops in for another stealth attack on October 18th. Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to 2009's breakout hit Arkham Asylum, see's city-wide bedlam on your favorite consoles. Warner Brothers Interactive and DC Entertainment gave us a preview of the game's box art.
Here's a look at the PS3 version:
And 360 players get their lime green on.

Purty.
I’ve liked all the posters/teaser art in this style.
love the blood on the glove
Nice. Very Assasin’s Creed. But a nice image nonetheless.
Bring this shit on already!!
I can’t wait for this game!
Left arm’s too short….
@petevaldez It’s cropped oh art critic extraordinaire.
Blood is the wrong shade of red. Worst.Game.Ever. =p
@itsbecca No Batman’s left, and he’s right. It is too short, or the perspective/foreshortening is off.
@josh AH! You’re right, it’s wacky looking. Damnit! That’s all I can look at now!
Why’d you guys have to point that out, I was loving it, still do but it does look like the length proportions on his bicep and forearm arm roughly the same. Still looks sweet and the only thing it has in common with Assassins Creed is the black n white w a splash of red, but the 3D modeling has the look of a clay model statue texture, looks sweet.
Or more like polystone resin statue texture, thats what grabs me about these images, that they also used for a variant cover of the accompanying Arkham City comic mini series. Don’t plan to read a series that is a prequel story for the game, although it didn’t look bad and that cover is nice.
If you pre-order at Best Buy you can get the exclusive Robin character for multiplayer. Looks awesome.
This is the game that I have been looking to the most this year.
I know it’s not this site’s fault, you have to post what they give you or you won’t be given it anymore, but I’m sick to death of “here’s the 2 versions of this cover” and the only difference is the banner at the top! It’s like Marvel saying they have 2 verisons of a cover and the only difference is that 1 has a Captain America movie banner, the other has a Thor movie banner. Seriously, the only difference is the tiny NTSC on the Xbox verision and the region coding stuff on the spine of the PS3 version. Is marketing really so dumb that they think that if people don’t see a version of the game in their preferred console’s color banner people will think its not coming out?
@jonnyflash If it makes you feel any better, I got the PC version art too. I posted both of these so as not to enrage any staunch supporters of either console.
Here’s what Robin is going to look like in the game.
