DC Comics Announces JOE KUBERT PRESENTS Anthology Mini-Series

This October, DC Comics is launching a new anthology mini-series programmed by comics master Joe Kubert. Each of the six issues in Joe Kubert Presents will showcase all new stories from the legendary artist and a host of other great talents like Brian Buniak and Sam Glanzman (whose semi-autobiographical war serial U.S.S. Stevens returns in this project).

Joe Kubert Presents could best be described as Joe Kubert doing what Joe Kubert loves and does best, serving as a welcome home for some beloved DC properties of yesteryear. The first issue is 48 pages, with an “epic” Hawkman story written and drawn by Kubert. Throughout the mini-series, Kubert will also contribute stories about Spit, The Redeemer, Sgt. Rock and The Biker.

85 and still delivering the goods.

Joe Kubert and friends take everyone back to school this October with Joe Kubert Presents #1.

  1. Wow. I might be more excited for this than anything in the new 52. Joe is perhaps my favorite artist in comics.

    • Absolutely! Joe is the man! I love the idea of him being able to tell whatever stories he wants.

    • Joe Kubert is one of those rare talents who still improves every time I see his work; while most artists tend to lower their standards over time — I have never seen that happen with Joe Kubert.

  2. This is the best announcement to come out of the entire New 52 era, so awesome!

  3. When I heard about this on the Dc Comics site the only thought in my mind was this will be the year or the Kuberts.
With this and the Night owl book there all doing fantastic work. I would like to see one of them to do a story for G.I Combat.

  4. Thats a beautiful sketch, fresh perspective after all these years in comix, looks like something a new upcoming artist would do to make an impression, seen plenty of older artists put out work in the last cpl years that wasn’t anything special. The angle on that front elephant is a tough one and he pulled it off perfectly, you can also see by the composition and excitement level on the Hawks that he hasn’t lost any love for superhero’s and I think thats essential in putting out quality superhero stories.

  5. Yes please.

  6. I am going to be one happy boy come October.

  7. Been too long since something great has been done with Hawkman!

  8. This news is 100x better then ANY Marvel Now announcements. Even the ones I liked aren’t as good as this.

  9. This series will be on my pull list, come October, for sure!
